With a frame designed using ALUXX SLR, our highest quality aluminum, this super light and nimble 29er delivers speed and efficiency for XC riders. Designed with a 100mm suspension fork, the GIANT XTC SLR is a fast-accelerating shaven climber. The 29er-specific frame geometry provides an ideal balance between stability and handling on all types of XC terrain. The Boost hub provides additional tire clearance and wheel stiffness, and the new Giant WheelSystem with tubeless tires provides a smoother, more efficient ride, plus a reduced risk of flats.

The XtC SLR 29 marks the first use of ultra-premium ALUXX SLR aluminum for a 29er hardtail. It’s also the lightest aluminum hardtail ever built by Giant at 1,429 grams (size small).

The frame is designed with a proprietary material consisting mainly of 6011 alloy. The raw aluminum is subjected to state-of-the-art microscopic manipulation to achieve the best strength-to-weight ratio. The frame tubes are made with the patented FluidForm process, which uses high-pressure fluid injection to form the alloy tubes. The tubes are then refined with the most advanced cleaning techniques. This process allows the frame tubes to be thinner and up to 20% lighter than those used in ALUXX SL frames.

The new Giant Crest 34 suspension fork offers a smooth and light pedaling experience + increased control. The Boost hub provides additional tire clearance (up to 2.4 inches) and wheel stiffness, and a new Giant WheelSystem with tubeless tires provides more efficiency, control, with a reduced risk of puncture. The frame is designed for a 1x drivetrain setup and features internal cable routing for a clean profile.

Aluxx SLR Aluminium

Ultra-light, professional-level frame, produced with 6011 Aluminum tubes, which offers the best strength/weight ratio in the entire range of Giant aluminum frames. The manipulation process at the microscopic level reduces the weight and allows the walls to be reduced by up to 20% compared to ALUXX SL aluminum.

Overdrive System

The original headset system, composed of 1×1/4” bottom and 1×1/8” top bearings for road frames and 1×1/2” bottom and 1×1/8” top bearings for MTB frames.
